While it'll probably be a while before plot details start manifesting, it has been announced that three more actors have been added to the series' main cast.
Heading up the new additions is Sean Astin who made his start as a 13-year-old in 1985 classic The Goonies, a Steven Spielberg-produced adventure following a group of kids in the 80s (ringing any bells?).
Deadline reports that he'll be playing Bob Newby, a 'former nerd' who went to school with Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour). He now runs Hawkins' local RadioShack.
Paul Reiser (Diner, Whiplash) has been cast as Dr. Owens, an official with the Department of Energy who's tasked with containing the events of season 1, while Danish newcomer Linnea Berthelsen will fill the shoes of the mysterious Roman who has a strange connection to the events at the lab.
Astin's previous credits also include The Lord of the Rings trilogy and TV series 24 which turned 15 on Sunday (6 November).
Ahead of the table read, it was announced that Millie Bobby Brown would be reprising her role of Eleven in the follow-up to Netflix's unprecedented smash.
Last week, Netflix released a Halloween-themed news report on the disappearance of cult character Barb (Shannon Purser).
The Duffer Brothers announced a second season earlier this year releasing titles for all nine of its episodes simultaneously.
