Reality stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute have been fired from Vanderpump Rules after reporting a black castmate to the police for a crime she didn’t commit.

Schroeder and Doute, who have appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin-off series since 2013, were last week accused by their former co-star Faith Stowers of calling the police about her in 2018.

The pair had read a story in the Daily Mail about a black woman wanted for theft and allegedly reported Stowers to the police, despite the picture accompanying the article not being of her.

In addition, following the emergence of racist tweets from new cast members Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni in January, it was revealed that those two would also not return.

In a statement given to Variety, TV network Bravo wrote: “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.”

Stowers originally recalled the incident during an Instagram Live on 2 June, explaining: “There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady. It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos.

She continued: “They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from Stassi during an interview.”

At the time, Schroeder had tweeted a link to an article about the woman involved in the alleged crime, posting, “Hey tweeties, doesn’t this ex #pumprules thief look familiar? someone put her on mtv & gave her a platform for press. I didn’t wanna go there but I’m going there.”

Both Schroeder and Doute apologised to Stowers for their actions.
