At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC is currently going through a rough patch, the pilot undergoing a major reshoot and various roles being recast.

The series will take place following Sons of Anarchy and focus on Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, a prospect in the Reaper’s rivals turned allies, the Mayans Motorcycle Club, charter.

According to Deadline, FX are bringing in Preacher director Norberto Barba to direct the pilot episode reshoots, taking over from Kurt Sutter, who will instead focus on writing.

For those worried about the news, it should be noted the original Sons of Anarchy pilot went through a similar process.

Barba was an executive producer on the TV series Grimm, with previous directing credits including Preacher, Law & Order, Suits, The Strain, and Pure Genius.

Sons of Anarchy, which concluded in 2017 after seven seasons, starred King Arthur’s Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller who worked his way up the SOA Motorcycle Club.

Due to the reshoots, expected to take place later this Summer, when we can expect the series remains unknown but a tentative 'Fall 2017' date remains.
