Earlier this week, Osbourne was accused of “weaponising white tears” and “gaslighting” as she appeared on The Talk to defend Piers Morgan’s comments about Meghan Markle.
During the segment, Osbourne defensively raised her voice at co-host Sheryl Underwood while clutching a tissue, saying: “I will ask you again Sheryl... and don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me… You tell me where you have heard him say racist things.”
Peete, who was one of the original hosts on CBS’s daytime talk show from 2010 to 2011, shared her own comments about Osbourne on Friday (12 March).
The actor responded to a tweet which read: “No one listened when Holly Robinson Peete called out Sharon Osbourne’s thinly veiled racism. And now it’s right here on Twitter for all to see. Believe Black women.”
In reply, Peete shared a picture of the original Talk line-up, with her sat at the table next to Osbourne.

“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk… then I was gone,” Peete tweeted.
“I bring this up now bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/ her co host who remained calm & respectful because… she HAD to.”
Peete’s allegations come after Osbourne apologised on Friday for her comments on The Talk, saying that she “panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive” during the discusssion.
“There are very few things that hurt my heart more than racism so to feel associated with that spun me fast,” she wrote. “I am not perfect, I am still learning like the rest of us & will continue to learn, listen and do better.”
Osbourne’s representative declined The Independent’s request for comment.
