Your support makes all the difference.The latest comedy show from Little Britain duo Matt Lucas and David Walliams has been recommissioned for a second series, the BBC announced today.
Come Fly With Me, which was the second highest performing show over Christmas with more than 12 million viewers, will return to a slot on BBC One after the success of its first six-part series.
The "mockumentary" set in a busy airport has featured guest appearances from David Schwimmer and Rupert Grint as well as regular characters played by Lucas and Walliams.
Since its launch, the first episode has been watched by more than 17 million viewers across all platforms with nine million tuning in on New Year's Day.
The show also attracted almost eight million viewers in its new prime-time slot at 9pm on Thursday.
The timing of the next series has yet to be decided.
Mark Freeland, head of in-house comedy at the BBC, said: "After such a flying start on BBC One, it's great news that Matt Lucas and David Walliams will once again be filling the check-in desks, departure lounges and cockpits with their wonderful and weird characters."
Danny Cohen, BBC One controller, added: "Come Fly With Me has been a huge hit with audiences. I can't wait to see what Matt and David will do with the second series."
