Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway left viewers in shock after it aired a very passionate kiss between a couple in the audience.

The pair kissed in order to win free tickets to Orlando, in a new prank competition on the show that challenges parents to set up or embarrass their children.

Explaining the challenge, Dec said: “We know your parents are always making you cringe with public displays of affection...”

He then told the children, who appeared via video link from their home, that their parents were actually on the show instead of at a romantic dinner as they had claimed.

Ant approached the couple in the crowd, while Dec said to the children: “If you want to win a place on the plane all you need to do is allow your parents to kiss live on TV, if you allow that to happen, the magic word is ‘cringe’. Let me hear you...”

The children shouted “cringe”, before their parents began to graphically kiss.

Ant was forced to stop the kiss, exclaiming: “That's enough thank you, it's a family show.”

The family secured their tickets to Orlando, but viewers were not impressed.

One person wrote on Twitter: “That cringe kiss was enough to put anyone off their takeaway. No need!!”

Another added: “Nah. That's too far! I kiss my husband on the mouth in front of the kids, but not full on tongues. Inappropriate and unnecessary.”|

Others called the kiss “disgusting”.

Saturday Night Takeaway also recently came under fire for airing a martial arts sketch featuring the Rising Star flag, which symbolises the slaughter of millions in Asia. ITV later decided to remove the footage from the episode.
