** Spoilers for Game of Thrones season six episode two **

For almost an entire year, the cast of Game of Thrones were constantly asked just one question: is Jon Snow really dead?

Just under two hours into season six we were finally given our answer: yes, Jon Snow was dead, but he isn’t anymore. Melisandre finally said the magic words, and the young Stark was back in the realm of the living.

Not wanting to miss out on an opportunity to lampoon the series, the cast of Saturday Night Live decided to spoof the resurrection ritual.

In the sketch, the actors poke fun at the highly publicised speculation over him being dead, with Ser Davos (Taran Killam) and two local women (Cecily Strong and Brie Larson) discussing their options.

"Oh my god, this is so slow, just bring him hack to life already!" says Larson as the voice of every Game of Thrones fan. “We only get ten hours of this a year.”

Kate McKinnon mysterious Melisandre then enters the room and is asked whether she can revive Snow: "My magic might not work, this is a real edge of your seat kind of a thing.”

After a few minutes of washing his body, Snow - played by Pete Davidson - wakes up. The first thing he says: “I miss my family. Take me to Bran. I want to see what Bran’s up to,” leading to yet more groans from Strong and Larson.

Meanwhile, in other Game of Thrones news, some keen fans have translated the prayer Melisandre says to bring Jon Snow back to life, leading to yet more speculation over what is to come.
