Having won over fans in season two of Daredevil, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is receiving his own Netflix series, details of which of few and far between.

However, according to TV Line, The Chronicles of Narnia and Sons of Liberty’s Ben Barnes has been cast as a series regular, speculators believing him to be playing Bobby Saint.

The character features in the 2004 Punisher film and is intrinsically linked to Frank Castle as his family was responsible for the death of Castle’s wife.

Netflix and Marvel have yet to comment on the casting but multiple publications have picked up on the casting news.

The Punisher series will link in with Netflix’s other Marvel shows, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.

The series has yet to get a release date, and with casting news coming in, we could possibly see an early 2018 release following Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Jessica Jones season two.
