Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. As season 4 of Peaky Blinders rolls into town, a new bar inspired by the hit BBC series is set to open in Liverpool.
According to The Liverpool Echo, the 1920's themed bar will open in the former Cains Brewery in the city's Baltic Triangle, one of a number of new venues planned to renovate the formerly derelict location.
The bar comes courtesy of the same team behind a Peaky Blinders-named bar and accommodation in Southport, though the Liverpool version will be much larger and spread across two floors.
Plus, while the Southport version has something of a modern twist to it, the Liverpool venue will be making the most of the brewery's historical characteristics, keeping some of the original features, with the addition of period wallpaper and lighting, Victorian fixtures, and direct Peaky Blinders-inspired touches throughout.
The venue will feature draught beers and a wide selection of bottles, with fines wines and spirits also available alongside a cocktail menu. The current menu includes drinks named "The Thomas Shelby", "Naughty Ada", and "Billy Kimble's Breakfast". You can find out more here.
The final touches are currently being made to the bar and owners hope it will open to the public around 18 December.
