Paris Jackson – daughter of Michael Jackson – has said she suffered “similar experiences” to those Paris Hilton alleges occurred at her boarding school.

Earlier this month, Hilton testified about the “traumatising” abuse she was allegedly subjected to while attending Provo Canyon School.

Hilton was sent to the boarding school by her parents as a teenager, staying there for 11 months. The 40-year-old alleged that staff members at the school beat her, watched her shower, made her take medication without a diagnosis, and sent her to solitary confinement without clothes.

Speaking to Hilton’s mother Kathy for C Magazine, Jackson revealed that she went through “some very, very similar experiences” during her time at a different reformatory school in the US.

The 22-year-old said: “I went through some very, very similar experiences with those kind of teen places.

“[Hilton’s] been through a lot and it’s amazing to see her come out of the other end a diamond.”

Jackson credited Hilton for teaching her the “importance of setting a good example as a strong woman, and being able to uplift other women”.

Hilton opened up about her experiences on 8 February when testifying at the Utah Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee in support of new legislation which would mandate increased oversight of youth residential treatment centres.

She previously discussed the allegations of abuse in the 2020 documentary This is Paris.

“I was verbally, mentally and physically abused on a daily basis. I was cut off from the outside world and stripped of all my human rights,” she said.

Hilton also claimed that children at the school had been “restrained, thrown into walls, strangled and sexually abused regularly”.

Provo Canyon School is currently under different ownership, having been sold around two decades ago. Its administration has told media that it can’t comment on anything that occurred before the change of ownership, including Hilton’s time there.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kathy spoke about the long-term friendship between the Hiltons and Jackson, stating that “the name Paris was something that [Michael Jackson and I] joked about and played around when we were little”.
