From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Using the global success of The Walking Dead as a springboard, writer Robert Kirkman has developed another one of his popular comic book properties into a new TV show.
Outcast is a ten-episode horror series starring Philip Glenister, Gabriel Bateman and Patrick Fugit (the kid from Almost Famous) following a character whose family bears a history of demonic possession.
Considering the clout Kirkman's name now packs (thanks to AMC series TWD), Fox has decided to take a punt on Outcast and, rather groundbreakingly, premiere the series via Facebook Live.
Episode one of the supernatural series will air on Facebook Live in 61 countries in regions including the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, South Africa and Turkey.
Following the premiere, the show - which has already been renewed for a second season - will continue to air regular episodes as normal on US channel Cinemax (the network behind The Knick).
Outcast will air weekly in the UK from Tuesday 7 June on Fox and on Cineamax in the States.
The Walking Dead season 7 returns to Fox this October; earlier this week, executive producer Greg Nicotero stated in a Reddit AMA that the series' protagonist Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) would eventually die.
