Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Netlfix giveth, and Netflix taketh away. While we may have the brilliant Jessica Jones to enjoy over the Christmas period, there will also be a fewer cartoons to watch on the streaming service in the UK.
First up, Ben 10 fans are going to be hit hard, as Alien Swarm, Destroy all Aliens, Race Against Time and Secret of the Omnitrix, as well as the Generator Rex team up series, all leave on the 1 December.
Then, on the 9th, Cartoon Network’s Courage the Cowardly Dog will no longer be available, as won’t the award-winning Regular Show, which features Mark Hamill on the voice cast.
The biggest series to leave is fan-favourite Adventure Time on 15 December.
Having started life as a Nicktoons short, the animated adventures of Finn and Jake soon swept the world by storm, developing a strong fan following amongst children, teens and adults.
While no big Christmas flicks are leaving, fans of horror will be losing Silent Hill: Revelations (although, that won’t be a huge loss).
