From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Riverdale spin-off and supernatural-themed teen drama, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has been renewed for both a third and fourth season, with the news being announced on Twitter with the aid of Sabrina's cat familiar Salem.
A second season is set to arrive on 5 April, consisting of 10 episodes, with another 16 episodes spread across the third and fourth seasons, likely split as eight episodes per season.
"A Midwinter's Tale", a holiday special for the show, was also released on Netflix earlier this month.
Sabrina's return will see the half-human, half-witch (Kiernan Shipka) deal with the consequences of signing the Book of the Beast, swearing her undying loyalty to Satan, as she drifts further from her friends and boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch).
Meanwhile, it's guaranteed Madam Satan (Michelle Gomez) will continue her crusade to gain the Dark Lord's favour and acquire a throne at his side, even if that means turning Sabrina's life into a living hell.
Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Tati Gabrielle, and Lachlan Watson are all set to return.
