From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has signed up as a mentor for new UK TV talent search, The Face.

The 42-year-old will be one of three well-known beauties who will guide the hopefuls on the show which aims to find a model who will win the chance to become the face of a major brand.

Campbell will also be executive producer of the series to be screened by Sky Living. She has already appeared in a US version of the show.

The star and two other as-yet-unnamed supermodels will each choose four girls for their team whom they will mentor and guide. Over eight weeks they will be put through their paces with photo shoots, runway shows and commercials for well-known brands.

Each week, one of the girls will have to leave - chosen by the mentor in charge of the team which wins each week's task.

Campbell said: "I am looking for the ultimate model. It doesn't matter where you are from or who you are, The Face is about one thing.

"I'm looking for contestants who have the whole package - a beautiful face, great body, unique look, confidence, drive and passion, the ability to change and transform a willingness to follow direction, and, above all, a strong work ethic."

London-born Campbell has been modelling since she was 15 and has been the cover star for more than 500 magazines. She was the first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue.

The Face goes into production in the next few weeks with auditions around the UK, open to women aged 18 or over.
