Now onto the thrilling season two trailer.
"Remember the night of the hack?" asks Christian Slater's titular figure, alluding to the first season's climactic events. "Remember what happened to you?"
"I remember I woke up three days later," replies Rami Malek's protagonist Eliott Alderson, reigniting fans' wonder over what exactly happened in those three days. Well, it looks like we're going to find out. To say any more about key story details would be to unfairly give the game away.
However, while the trailer sees a return for Portia Doubleday and Charly Chaikin's characters, what's most notable is the presence of President Barack Obama who creator Sam Esmail has managed to secure for a cameo appearance.
Appearing in a newsreel segment, Obama can be seen referencing character Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström) as well as the series' hacktivist team known as 'fsociety' (he's clearly having a great final year in office).
Esmail previously commented that the "really fucking dark" season two would continue to tackle global issues, in particular highlighting the encryption debate, but this trailer goes a step further hinting at total technological destruction.
Judging by the bleak visuals, chilling imagery and (even) darker tone, Mr Robot feels like a series that - not only has a true grasp of what it wants to be - but one that's only just hitting its stride.
The first season, which won a Golden Globe for Best Drama - TV back in January, is available to watch on Amazon Prime while season two will premiere in both the US and UK later this year
