The clip aired during the game on Sunday, documenting Mr Peanut’s funeral.
The anthropomorphic nut had previously been “killed off” as part of the new ad campaign for Planter’s.
However, the campaign was put on hold when Kobe Bryant died last week, seven days before the Super Bowl.
The company decided to press pause on the ads at the time out of sensitivity in light of the NBA icon’s shocking death.
On Sunday, the campaign reached a twist ending of sorts.
The 30-second Super Bowl ad features Wesley Snipes eulogising Mr Peanut at the mascot’s funeral, attended by Mr Clean and the Kool-Aid Man among others.
In the video, the Kool-Aid Man sheds a tear, which lands on a mound of soil.
A plant starts to grow, ultimately revealing a new, baby Mr Peanut.
“Just kidding. I’m back,” says the mascot, indicating he’s alive and well after all.
