The one-off sketch will mark the character's first appearance in 38 years; Crawford last played Spencer in a 1978 Christmas special.
The sportsman clashing with the hapless comedy character will be cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins. The BBC has also promised an array of other 'mystery guests.'
Spencer isn't the only character returning - his long-suffering wife Betty will also be showing up with original star Michele Dotrice on board to star.
“It will be an absolute joy to be reunited again with Frank," the 67-year-old actress said.
Sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em was first broadcast on the BBC back in 1973, running for three series.
Crawford, now 74, played the first ever incarnation of the lead character in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Phantom of the Opera, a role which won him an Olivier and Tony award.
While Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em was extremely popular in its day, it's Nineties sitcom Keeping Up Appearances that has proved the channel's most in demand overseas export over the past 40 years.
Sport Relief will air on BBC1 on 18 March from 7 PM; what's the betting Crawford will say "Ooh Bradley?"
