Interesting fact: First shot to fame as the Boddington’s model with the ‘Northern’ accent
She says: “It’s hard to say what is going to happen but when I am hungry, tired or stressed out then I am an emotional person!”
Sykes first came to attention as a model before moving into presenting and even working on I’m A Celebrity in the past.
She began presenting The Big Breakfast as a co-host in 1992, and went on to present Loose Women as well as hosting Today with Des & Mel and Let's Do Lunch with Gino & Mel.
Sykes recently divorced her husband of one year, builder Jack Cockings. She has two children with her first husband Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone.
She is looking forward to meeting and bonding with her fellow campmates, but won’t be taking herself too seriously or looking for love, adding: “It’s a bit of fun”.
The TV presenter admits that despite her excitement it will be “emotional” leaving her two children behind, especially as it will be the longest period she will ever have been apart from them.
I’m A Celebrity will begin on ITV on Sunday 16 November.
