From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Masked Singer unveiled its latest celebrity contestant on tonight’s episode (6 February).

The hit ITV series – a spinoff of the South Korean original – sees a roster of stars dress up in wacky costumes to conceal their identity and perform for a panel of judges who are tasked with guessing the person behind the mask.

During tonight’s semi-final episode, which featured guest judge Matt Lucas, all remaining competitors performed before the TV audience and the judges Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall.

The identity of Dragon was revealed after the judges decided to send them home.

It was revealed that the celebrity in the Dragon costume was, in fact, English comedian and Great British Bake Off star Sue Perkins.

“Everyone should unleash their inner dragon, or blob, or whatever they’ve got,” said Perkins once her identity has been announced.

For her final performance on the show, Perkins sang Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”.

Tonight’s episode will feature a double elimination, with a second celebrity set to be unmasked and sent home shortly.

The Masked Singer season two finale airs on ITV at 7pm next Saturday.
