Marvel's Runaways get TV series from Gossip Girl creators

DC's been fixated on a kind of universe cohesiveness; but in the furor over Suicide Squad's relative failures and disappointments, those binding tendons between it and the likes of Justice League and Wonder Woman have become increasingly fraught.
Yet, over in Marvel's corner - the diversification of ideas seems to be the triumphant spin. It's upcoming projects - between Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Captain Marvel - hold their individual identity; with Marvel's television endeavours working to build something different entirely.
With Netflix's Luke Cage set to premiere, Hulu has now announced its own Marvel deal: Variety is reporting its ordered a pilot adapting Marvel's Runaways series from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
Clearly aiming for similar demographics, the Runaways feature a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are in an evil crime organisation known as "The Pride"; soon learning they've also inherited their parents' superpowers, they must unite to stop The Pride - though they absolutely can't stand each other.
"I’m a long-time fan of ‘Runaways’ and couldn’t be more excited to bring Brian and Adrian’s characters to life," said Schwartz. Savage added, "Josh and I can’t wait to get to work for Marvel and Hulu."
This is only a pilot for now, though Hulu has reportedly already ordered a full season script in addition; meaning there must be some level of confidence this will be greenlit to series at some point.
