Disney+ is set to unveil numerous spin-off shows over the coming years, one of which is WandaVision.
WandaVision will focus on characters Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) for a time-hopping six-episode adventure.
With Marvel preparing to release the show before the end of 2020, the studio is sure to be lining up plenty of tie-in promotion – especially considering this will be the only MCU project to come out this year due to Covid-19 (with Black Widow and Eternals both delayed until 2021).
One such promotion will come in the form of a set of Funko Pop! figures featuring characters from the show.
According to a leaked product description, though, the set will include a surprise character: Quicksilver, the superhero played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Quicksilver, who is the brother of Scarlet Witch, was killed off in the 2015 blockbuster, but his potential return will no doubt be explained away by the introduction of the multiverse – different worlds featuring a whole host of characters, dead and alive.
Taylor-Johnson was expected to return for the show and, while this is still unconfirmed, it certainly seems like a cameo appearance could occur.
Funko Pop! is yet to comment on the possible inclusion of Quicksilver. The figures are reportedly set to be debuted at Emerald City Comic Con in 2021.
WandaVision will also star Randall Park, Teyonah Paris and Kathryn Hahn.
Kat Dennings will reprise the role of her Thor character Darcy Lewis, while Evan Peters – who played Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise – has joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
