According to The Sun, the broadcasting regulator received five complaints after the sandwich maker was branded "manipulative" when he interrogated fellow contestant Lucie about her date with Tommy Fury.
A spokesperson for Ofcom commented: “We will assess these complaints under our broadcasting rules but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”
Joe had what many regarded as a "meltdown" after Lucie went on a date with the professional boxer, and admitted he was jealous despite only knowing her for 24 hours.
Viewers were outraged after Joe claimed he didn't know if he could trust Lucie, which caused her to become visibly upset.
Air hostess Amy told her: “I think you’re shutting yourself off too early. It’s day three.”
In the latest episode, which aired on 6 June, Joe's fellow contestants also criticised his behaviour when Lucie confided in them.
Several Twitter users also expressed their objection to Joe’s brash behaviour, with some saying he’s exhibiting clear relationship “red flags”.
