From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Love Island fans in the UK are wondering whether they should begin watching the Australian version of the series following a brawl that's gone viral worldwide.

A video has surfaced showing two male contestants, Eden and Grant, getting into a heated scrap following the show's latest elimination. Furore descended after the former and his girlfriend Erin chose to dump Justin from the villa with Erin later chastising fellow contestants Tayla and Mille for branding their decision “unforgivable.”

Millie, defending her stance, replied: I said if Justin leaves I'm going to lose my shit, obviously, because he's a close friend” and Eden refused to hold back on her criticism of the girls, something which sparked the fury of Tayla's boyfriend Grant.

The two had a brawl which saw Dom and Josh pull them apart. While Eden later branded it “a stupid thing” to have happened, viewers were enthused by the fireworks.

Meanwhile, in the UK version, the arrival of new contestants Zara and Ellie have shaken things up with Adam, Josh, Wes and Dr Alex despite the first three already being coupled up.

Love Island Australia is shown on 9Go! with the UK version airing nightly (except Saturdays) on ITV2 at 9pm.
