From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Laura Whitmore will make a rare appearance on Love Islandtonight as the islanders gather for what is bound to be a dramatic recoupling, as the Casa Amor and original villa contestants are brought together.

The villa boys and girls will be asked to decide whether they want to stick with their villa partners, or recouple with one of the new boys or girls.

“Girls as you know tonight there will be a recoupling. Each of you has a big decision to make. I’m going to ask you all one-by-one if you want to stick with your current partner who has been in Casa Amor or do you want to couple up with one of these boys standing in front of you now?” Whitmore will tell the islanders.

She adds: “The boys in Casa Amor have also been given a choice - whether to stick with you or couple up with one of the new girls. Remember Casa Amor is the ultimate relationship test. Do you trust that your boy has stayed loyal to you? Or do you think he will have strayed?”

In tonight’s episode, Liam and Lillie will share a kiss after growing closer at Casa Amor, while Faye gets to know Sam at the villa after questioning her connection with Teddy.

Love Island fans were furious over ITV2’s “manipulating” of Faye and Teddy’s relationship, after the villa girls were sent a postcard that showed Teddy kissing someone else during a game at Casa Amor.

This was despite the fact that Teddy had actually remained loyal to Faye and had admitted to the other boys how much he missed her.
