Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Love Island continues tonight as the contestants get to know the new boys and girls hoping to split up some happy couples.

Following the breakup of Laura and Wes and Megan and Eyal, not to mention the forcible separation of Zara and Adam, it seems there is one more on the horizon: Josh and Georgia.

Last night's episode saw the boys move to Casa Amor, a separate villa where producers added six brand new female contestants. Upon initial introductions, it became clear that Kazimir - a make-up artist from London - had eyes for Josh despite him being coupled up with Georgia.

The trailer for tonight's episode sees Josh share a bed with Kazimir as he later admits his “head's been turned” by the 23-year-old. To make matters worse, Georgia - clueless in the other villa - refuses to proceed with getting to know any of the new boys, telling Dani: “Do you know what? I don't care. I like Josh - he's the person I see a future with in here. I'm gonna pursue it.”

Elsewhere, it seems Megan may not be as dead set on Wes as he is on her, spending time with new addition Dean.

Basically, things are getting very complicated.
