Your support makes all the difference.Former Brookside actor Jennifer Ellison and her husband were rescued by the RNLI after they got into difficulties on a fishing trip in north Wales.
The engine of the couple’s boat broke down while they were off the coast of Anglesey, and they started drifting towards Moelfre Island in north Wales.
A rescue expedition was launched by the RNLI, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and they were towed back to shore.
She praised the work of the RNLI crew who brought them back, thanking members of the team that rescued them personally.
Although she initially tweeted that the event had been ‘terrifying’, Ellison later went on to tweet: "I couldn't stop laughing."
Anthony Barclay, coxswain of the RNLI crew, said: "At the time we didn’t realise it was Jennifer on board but after all the interest it has generated, I wanted to thank her for helping to raise awareness if the work if the RNLI charity and for showing her gratitude to the RNLI crew."
"They had the misfortune of suffering engine failure whilst out sea fishing but were towed back in without any complications. We’re always happy to help when the call comes and never know quite what situation we may face."
