Your support makes all the difference.Netflix has posted the first trailer for Lady Dynamite, a new original from Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and South Park co-writer Pam Brady.
A comedy-cum-mockumentary, it stars Maria Bramford and is described as the story of a woman losing, and then finding, her shit.
Judging by the trailer it looks a lot like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but with the protagonist’s hyperactivity having more serious consequences.
Here’s the synopsis from Netflix:
‘Based on what she has accepted to be “her life,” the semi-autobiographical, semi-surreal series is a truthful look at the highs and lows of Bamford’s life -- as an actor on the rise, during her hospitalization for bipolar disorder, and through her present life in LA, where she’s reached a middle ground and found love.’
Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate and Dean Cain will all make guest appearances in the first season of Lady Dynamite, which consists of 12 episodes, all of which go live on 20 May.
