Former Disney Channel star Kyle Massey is being sued for $1.5m for allegedly “attempting to commit a lewd act with a minor.”

The suit was filed anonymously due to “the highly sensitive and personal nature of the subject matter”, with the accuser being referred to as Jane Doe within the documents, obtained by E! News. Her mother, referenced as Anne Doe, filed on her behalf.

Jane and Anne allege that they first met Massey at Universal City, when Jane was 4 years old. According to the lawsuit, the actor allegedly “maintained contact” with Anne and her family, becoming a “father figure” to Jane, who wanted to pursue a career in entertainment.

The lawsuit alleges that Massey ”would offer to use his success and influence in the entertainment industry” to help Jane establish a career.

Jane allegedly reached out to Massey when she was 13, texting him to say she would “LOVE to audition” for his show Cory in the House. The suit then alleges that Massey offered to fly Jane out and have her live with him.

According to the lawsuit, Massey then allegedly ”began to send Jane Doe numerous sexually explicit text messages, images, and videos.” Jane was allegedly 13 at the time and Massey 27.

The lawsuit calls Massey’s alleged actions “repugnant” and says that Jane suffered “great pain of mind, body, shock, emotional distress” and more.

Angel Massey, the actor’s mother, wrote in an email that “Kyle is the victim here. Kyle was a victim as a minor and now as an adult with this attempted extortion.”

According to Angel, Anne Doe “requested a mediation and a confidential settlement of 1.5 million dollars to keep this ‘matter’ from going public”, but Angel has ”respectfully declined the offer because Kyle had not done anything wrong.” She added: “This lawsuit will reveal more information more favorable for Kyle as it unfolds.”

A representative for Massey has been contacted for comment.
