From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After attempting to ‘break the internet’ last week, Kim Kardashian will continue her quest for world domination with an appearance on India’s Big Brother.

The reality TV star is due to appear as a guest on India’s Bigg Boss this week as part of her first trip to the country.

A statement from Bigg Boss broadcaster Colors quoted Kardashian as saying: “Namaste India…main Kim Kardashian aa rahi hoon India…Bigg Boss ke ghar mein. (Greetings, India. I, Kim Kardashian, am coming to India, to the house of Bigg Boss).”

It is not known how long the reality TV star will spend in the Big Boss house when she enters on Saturday 22 November.

Kardashian, who has become a household name in the US and UK after starring in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, is relatively unknown in India in comparison to the country’s biggest Bollywood stars.

The 34-year-old, who is married to Kanye West, earned $28 million last year from her E! network show, clothing and fake tan endorsements and public appearances, according to Forbes magazine.

Big Boss, which is hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, is one of the most-watched programmes in India. Its last series attracted over 150 million viewers.

Jade Goody appeared on the show in August 2008 but left early to return to the UK after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. She died of the disease in March 2009.

Pamela Anderson appeared on the show in 2010 and stayed for three days.
