From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

John Wick‘s third outing now has an official title: John Wick 3: Parabellum.

Keanu Reeves confirmed the news with ComingSoon.net, explaining that it means: “Prepare for war. It’s part of that famous sentence, ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum,’ which translates as, ‘If you want peace, prepare for war.’”

A first tease of the film saw Reeves’ Wick making his way to the neon-lit streets of New York’s Chinatown where potential threats are likely around every corner.

The film will also star Halle Berry, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston, and Jason Mantzoukas; with Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick all returning.

Reeves teased of Berry’s character: “Yeah, John Wick is fighting for his life and thinks that Halle Berry’s character has some information for him. They have a past, and they get involved with The High Table, this kind of overlording entity.”

Speaking last year with The Independent, director Chad Stahelski hinting the upcoming sequel may be John Wick’s final outing.

“We are going to put in something about the High Table, how that all works,” he said. “We’re going to put in something about where John comes from, and where he wants to go. I don’t want to say too much more, but it will be a nice completion to Mr Wick’s journey.”

John Wick: Chapter 3 reaches cinemas 17 May 2019.
