The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live took the move after purchasing an array of merchandise from the Trump Store - run by the president's sons - to see where it's all made.
“I’m sure Eric and Donald Jr. take this American thing very seriously," Kimmel said. "These guys are red, white and blue to the core. They're like a couple of flags wearing hair gel, these two."
But Kimmel soon discovered that the products don't fully align with Trump's "buy American" rhetoric.
Many of the products were made overseas and two pieces of merchandise didn't list where they were made.
Kimmel alerted viewers that the omission could result in fines up to $500,000 if the products in question were made overseas.
“This could be very expensive,” Kimmel said. “Not to mention embarrassing. Are they even capable of shame?"
He pointed out that the idea that all of Trump's merchandise could be made overseas is antithetical to what he preaches to Americans.
"I mean Trump’s whole platform is about American companies, his company isn’t even supporting America!” said Kimmel.
But Kimmel says he plans to take care of it.
"I'll just file an official complaint and let them sort it out," Kimmel said to the audience.
We'll stay tuned to see if Kimmel costs Trumps the big bucks.
