From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

With The Defenders and The Punisher having passed, fans of Marvel’s Netflix shows are looking forward towards the next series: Jessica Jones’ second season.

While details have been scarce, a new trailer has been released, revealing when the show will return and hinting at Kilgrave still having a hold over the character.

David Tennant — who died during the first season — will return as the mind-altering villain as a guest during season two, which reaches Netflix on the 8 March 2018. Watch the teaser below.

Krysten Ritter returns as the titular superhero, having filmed the series back-to-back with The Defenders. Other actors to return include Rachael Taylor as Trish, Carrie-Anne Moss as Hogarth, and Eka Darville as Malcolm.

Notable newcomers are Leah Gibson and J.R. Ramirez playing the character Ingrid and Oscar — no further details about them have been revealed as their roles remain shrouded in mystery.

Following the second season of Jessica Jones, the already filmed Luke Cage is expected to return. Whether the character — or any other Defenders — return for JJ remains unknown.
