From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Breaking Bad’s Krysten Ritter stars in the lead alongside David Tennant as the villainous Kilgrave, also known as The Purple Man, and Mike Colter as Luke Cage.
Netflix has already dropped several teasers and a creepy trailer to crank up the hype for its upcoming original. The full thirteen episodes will be available to stream from Friday 20 November.
The full official synopsis reads like this: “Ever since her short-lived stint as a superhero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.
“Plagued by self-loathing and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need. Especially if they're willing to cut her a check.”
Jessica Jones is the second of four planned Marvel series on Netflix, following Daredevil last April. Up next are Luke Cage and Iron Fist, before the superheroes join forces in The Defenders.
