Anastasia Taneie has accused the Emmy-winning actor of forcibly pushing her up against a wall in a dark hallway during a break from filming on the HBO series whereby she claims he grabbed her breasts and genitals. Her alleged experience, reported by BuzzFeed, is said to have occurred in 2009.
It is claimed that Piven told Taneie that he and his manager wanted to discuss something with her. Taneie alleges that Piven stopped when an assistant director walked by, ordering her to be removed from set for coming onto him.
Taneie isn't the only woman to have accused Piven of sexual misconduct, claims he has previously denied. Piven's denied this one also, releasing a statement via his lawyer, saying: “Let me be absolutely clear, this simply did not happen. I would never force myself on a woman. I cannot speak as to why a person would create a story like this.”
The website was also handed the website results of a lie detector test Piven took on 13 November in a bid to prove he has never used force to take sexual advantage of a woman. He passed the test.
Ariane Bellamar was the first woman to come forward with allegations against Piven and was closely followed by Longmire star Cassidy Freeman and Tiffany Bacon Scourby, an advertising executive.
Piven is best known to UK audiences as the lead star of ITV series Mr. Selfridge. He currently stars in US show Wisdom of the Crowd alongside Monica Potter.
