It will be the former Top Gear host's first TV appearance since the BBC decided against his renewing contract after he assaulted a producer during a "fracas" over hot food.
Rumours have been circulating that a Top Gear spoof is on the cards after Evans was spotted filming on the BBC motoring series track, but what do we know so far?
Evans, Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are all in on a joke
This all started when Evans said on Sunday Brunch that he would be "making a secret Top Gear film with an independent production company and seeing how it goes". Cue uproar over this apparent confirmation of a Clarkson replacement.
Then, Clarkson, Hammond and May all posted tweets that seemed mocking at the time but now suggest they all know something the rest of us don't. Evans retweeted them all so we should have guessed.
Evans is most probably not replacing Clarkson on Top Gear
Back in March when Clarkson was axed, Evans became the instant favourite to replace him. He said "never" despite being a renowned petrol-head. The BBC has also insisted that Evans has not been shooting Top Gear with them. So we can safely this is a no-no.
The TFI Friday sequence is going to involve some very silly wigs
Pictures taken on Tuesday at Dunsfold Aerodrome and tweets posted by Evans suggest that we're going to see some kind of race between a cool sports car and, erm, Evans' mum in a motorised scooter. Evans will be wearing a bizarre blonde wig.
But what about Clarkson?
Clarkson is busy working on the Clarkson, Hammond and May Live tour so it remains unknown when he will shoot his TFI Friday scenes. Unless he was there all along and the photographer missed him.
