From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pam Beasley and Joey Tribbiani are getting married! Sort of; before die-hard Pam/Jim fans have a complete meltdown.

The Office's Jenna Fischer has been cast alongside Matt LeBlanc in a new CBS comedy pilot, reports Variety. She'll play Andi, wife to Adam (LeBlanc), who decides to return to her old job as a medical lab technician; Adam thus agrees to take on the parenting role, with the comedy revolving around the ex-contractor's discovery that raising kids is a lot tougher than he was expecting.

Fischer's largely remained within the bounds of television since The Office ended in 2013; she's currently starring across from Rob Lowe in You, Me, and the Apocalypse, as well as landing an extended guest spot on detective series The Mysteries of Laura.

LeBlanc, of course, will be shooting the pilot amongst his new stint as Top Gear host; the star most recently hit South Africa with rapper Tinie Tempah for a shoot for the upcoming series.

The new series of Top Gear looks to be premiering 22 May.
