The Last King of Scotland star appeared on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C last night (16 March), competing alongside musician Anne-Marie, comedian David Baddiel and athlete Dame Kelly Holmes.
McAvoy was named the week’s Star Baker at the end of the episode, having wowed the judges in all three challenges.
Viewers were no less impressed by his appearance, with many sharing enthusiastic messages and memes on social media.
“James McAvoy on Bake Off is the best thing to happen,” wrote one viewer.
“The content we all need. #JAMESMCAVOY in the Bake Off tent,” wrote another.

“James McAvoy’s perfectly greying hair is the real winner on #GBBO,” wrote someone else.
Another quoted McAvoy’s speech to his cake during the Showstopper round: “I love you, Pussycat, but you and I are done.”
“If James McAvoy doesn‘t get to play James Bond after this performance, there is no sense in the universe,” they added.
Channel 4 is broadcasting four episodes of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C.
