On casting Finn Jones as Iron Fist, Marvel courted controversy; many fans had advocated for an Asian actor to take the role of the martial artist.

The superhero powerhouse has adamantly marched on with their Game of Thrones lead, and now the first images of Jones as the titular hero have leaked online.

Wearing civilian clothes, Jones is seen sporting a beard and listening to an old walkman. Likely, throughout the series, we will see the character transform into a certified superhero.

Iron Fist will be the fourth Marvel TV show to launch on Netflix, following Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, the latter of which is set for release this November. In the coming years, the four heroes will team-up on a single show, The Defenders.

Little is known about Iron Fist at the moment, with only four other cast members having signed on so far. Jessica Henwick will star as Colleen Wing, a comic-book ally of Rand’s while David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, and Tom Pelphrey will all play members of the Meachum family.

In other Netflix news, Charlie Cox (Daredevil) recently said he expects The Defenders to start filming by the end of the year, implying the series would hit the streaming service late 2017.
