From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After a week of rumours, ITV has officially announced that Noel Edmonds is heading into the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

The former host of Deal Or No Deal will join stars including football manager Harry Redknapp, The Chase star Anne Hegerty and actress Emily Atack.

"Time to really get this party started! Noel Edmonds is coming to the Jungle!" read a Tweet from the I'm A Celebrity Twitter account on Tuesday (20 November).

The post, which described the 69-year-old as a "TV legend", listed his phobias as heights and confined spaces. There's still no word on when Edmonds will appear on the show.

Edmonds will be one of the biggest names on the ITV show, this year fronted by Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby.

In 2016, he came under fire after claiming that an electromagnetic pulse machine, EMPpad, "tackles cancer". A year later, Edmonds said he came close to taking his own life after falling victim to financial fraud.

Other celebrities taking part this year include DIY SOS host Nick Knowles, The Vamps guitarist James McVey, X Factor singer Fleur East, former EastEnders star Rita Simons, Coronation Street actor Sair Khan and Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer.
