From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Filming on the forthcoming series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is reportedly at risk amid changes to the Welsh lockdown rules.

The hit ITV reality series, which is normally filmed in Australia, has relocated to Gwrych Castle, Wales, this year, due to pandemic travel restrictions.

While filming is due to begin in a few weeks’ time, an ongoing spike in the number of Covid-19 cases across the UK could potentially throw a spanner in the works.

The new guidance issued by the Welsh government states: “People will no longer be able to form, or be in, an extended household.”

“The basic message is that we want people to stay in the area as much as possible,” the warning continues. “You do not have a reasonable excuse to leave the area to do something if you could be reasonably expected to be able to do it within the area.”

An ITV spokesperson said: “I’m A Celebrity continues to adhere to all relevant guidelines as well as our own strict Covid protocols.”

While ITV has not suggested that filming on the series will be postponed, further changes to the coronavirus rules and regulations could impact production.

Filming on projects across the film and TV industry was abandoned earlier this year, when the UK entered a period of total lockdown.
