From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

ITV has revealed the official line-up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Despite rumours that Tom Daley, Roy Keane and Nicola Adams would be entering the jungle, few big household names have made the cut.

Instead, the likes of US reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson and ex-professional motorbike racer Carl Fogarty will be entering the jungle.

They will be joined by TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, Coronation Street actor Craig Charles, ‘Allo ‘Allo actress Vicki Michelle, singer Tinchy Stryder, Model Nadia Forde, BBC newsreader Michael Buerk, TV presenter Melanie Sykes and US reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson.

Ant and Dec will return to host the show, which begins its 14th series this weekend.

The news of the announcement follows comments from Springwatch presenter Chris Packham, who has criticised the show for its “repugnant” treatment of wild animals.

The naturalist said the show’s use of animals such as snakes, spiders, crocodiles and rats undermined a respect for life and sometimes bordered the “barbaric”.

I’m A Celebrity begins on Sunday 16 November at 9pm on ITV.
