From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Before ITV announced the official I’m a Celebrity lineup, one publication announced that Danny Baker and Martin Roberts would be heading to the jungle.

Soon after the report was dismissed as the pair were missing from the final line-up, something slightly short-sighted as both Baker and Roberts have been announced as surprise contestants.

The esteemed BBC presenter previously said of appearing on I’m a Celebrity: “I did have talks with #IACGMOOH this year but when I said my luxury item had to be a case of white wine the f***ers backed out.” At the time, Baker was rumoured to have signed “a six-figure” deal with ITV.

Meanwhile, the Holmes Under the Hammer star has continued to tease an appearance on I’m a Celebrity, Tweeting about working from a "treehouse".

Currently in the jungle are the likes of ex-Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman, ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan, and ex-Gogglebox star Scarlet Moffat.

Alongside them are Olympic hockey player Sam Quek, former radio host and model Lisa Snowdon, and Emmerdale star Adam Thomas.

Rounding off the line-up are Jordan Banjo, who was part of Britain’s Got Talent dance troupe Diversity, EastEnders star Larry Lamb, comedian Joel Dommett (who once starred in Skins), and Former England defender Wayne Bridge.

I'm A Celebrity: Which famous faces are heading into the jungle?

As always, the contestants have been taking part in various challenges, attempting to be crowned 2016’s I’m A Celebrity champion, all of which will be presented by Ant and Dec.

Last year’s highlights, according to ITV, included Ferne McCann taking on a snake-filled pit, a storm causing the celebrities to be evacuated, Vicky Pattison being crowned Queen of the Jungle, and Lady C.
