Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Vincent Simone, 34, professional dancer

Who? Vincent is one half of ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional dancing pair 'Vincent and Flavia'.

Why take part?: Vincent wants to challenge himself after realising that his phobias have gone too far.

What he says: "I don’t like people shouting, anger or people with big heads. If I have to get something off my chest, I will. I don’t hide my emotions."

Ideal campsite comrade: Vincent has not mentioned one, but if Flavia was flown in he could entertain the camp with their tango.

Phobias: He has told the jungle that he is "scared of everything". This could be interesting!

Most likely to humilate himself: Failing multiple bushtucker trials and ballroom dancing over the wooden bridge.

Looking forward to: Italian Vincent wants to "inject some passion" into the jungle by teaching his campmates how to salsa.

Odds of a jungle romance?: Very slim as Vincent has a long-term partner and a child, Luca.
