From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The shows getting the full season treatment include I Love Dick - which is the new project from Jill Soloway, creator of Amazon's award-winning series Transparent - and The Tick, a superhero reboot starring Peter Serafinowicz.
The final show that's been ordered is Jean-Claude Van Johnson which stars action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme as an undercover private contractor version of himself.
I love Dick stars Kathryn Hahn and is based on Chris Kraus' feminist novel about a couple's marital struggles. Griffin Dunne and Kevin Bacon also star.
Ben Edlund's comic book is the basis of The Tick which was made into a series starring Patrick Warburton in 2001. Comedian Serafinowicz (Spy) plays the lead role, while Jackie Earle Haley and Valorie Curry - recently seen in Adam Wingard's Blair Witch sequel - also star.
Amazon makes its decision by using viewer feedback and ratings. These series will debut on the service in 2017.
It's next original series will be Woody Allen's Crisis In Six Scenes which will debut this Friday (30 September).
