The actor, who has played Sinead O’Connor since 2010, told her Instagram followers that while it was her decision to leave, it is not necessarily what she wanted.

“It is with a heavy heart I have decided to leave Hollyoaks and [I am] now looking forward to working on new and exciting projects,” she added.
A spokesperson for the C4 soap said: ”We would like to thank Stephanie for her huge contribution to the show and the enjoyment her character Sinead has brought to fans.”
Davis was cast in the soap following her appearance on BBC talent show Over the Rainbow.
