Here are some we picked earlier... shortlist of ten hopefuls compete for Blue Peter TV presenter job

Ten hopefuls are in the running to be the next presenter of enduring children's show Blue Peter.

The wannabes range from 19 to 28 years old and include a primary school teacher, a dancer who attended the Brit School and a science fan with his own YouTube channel.

They have made it through from more than 20,000 people who applied to become the 36th host of the world's longest running children's TV show.

Over the coming weeks they will be put through their paces in a spin-off CBBC show Blue Peter - You Decide!, with judges including Myleene Klass and Eamonn Holmes.

Presenters Dick and Dom will host the show which will feature a number of heats with challenges to test their skills as budding TV stars, although it will be up to viewers to cast their votes on which they wish to choose from the final three.

Here are the CVs of the final ten:

Ben Hunte, 21, from Woodford Green

University student Ben has an appetite for adventure and has shared his explorations back to friends on campus through his blog and the student magazine.

He said: "I'm unlike anyone who has been on Blue Peter before and I'm up for anything. I'm always laughing and constantly looking for opportunities to try something new.

Freddie Ingleby, 24 from Stirling

Recycling manager Freddie was raised on a farm and hosted radio shows at university. He is a former rowing coach and has completed a number of half marathons.

He said: "I'm energetic, enthusiastic and committed. I don't shy away from anything, and I smile a lot - I'll genuinely do anything that's asked of me without hesitation and with a smile on my face.

Ross Exton, 24, from Newport

Science-mad Ross has a YouTube channel which he uses to show his educational videos teaching about his love of science. Now based in Bristol, the Taekwondo black belt has travelled the UK as part of a sports science interactive exhibition.

He said: "I'm enthusiastic and think I have the ability to inspire viewers to explore the world and do whatever they want to do in life. That's what Blue Peter is all about - it's about making kids excited about new things and showing them its okay to ask questions and go on adventures.

Isaac Jones, 19 from London

Salford university student Isaac is passionate about presenting and is studying for a degree in TV and radio, which has seen him working with club promoters to interview guest DJs and hosting online promotional videos.

He said: "I've watched the show for years and love it. I think I could be a breath of fresh air and bring something new to the programme. Every presenter has their own style and I think mine is creative and current."

Andy Shepherd, 28, from Loughborough

Is already a host for online channel SBTV, presenting their sports content - for which he has a passion as a former track athlete - and has travelled up and down the country for the past year interviewing stars.

He said: "There's no-one like me. I love travelling and adventures. I think my friends would say that if there's something I want I really go for it and try to achieve it. If the CBBC audience chose me as the brand new Blue Peter presenter it would mean everything to me."

Emma Bensley 28 from Middlesbrough

Primary school teacher Emma, now based in London, loves music runs two school choirs and has travelled extensively, but her lifelong dream is to host Blue Peter.

She said: "Blue Peter presenters should be likeable and someone kids can relate to. I'm full of energy, positive and willing to give anything a go - a big personality in a small package. Though they do say good things come in small packages."

Kerry Boyne, 25 from London

Dancer Kerry went to the Brit School before then trained for three years in dance and performance at the London Studios Centre.

She said: "I feel like everything in my life has driven me to be where I am now. It's made me feel comfortable with myself and I really want to inspire others to do the same. It would mean the absolute world to me if I was chosen - a dream come true."

Hephzibah "Hettie" Colquhoun, 21 from Somerset

As a charity fundraising daredevil she has amassed £250,000 for good causes, and has travelled the world to try new experiences.

She said: "I think I could bring a different element to the show and shake it up a little. I'm interested in different cultures and am fresh and different. I don't have any presenting experience at all but am willing to work hard and learn - a diamond in the rough hopefully."

Lindsey Russell , 22, from Oxford

Nearing the end of her four-year degree at the University of Bristol, she has taught French children, presented theatre workshops for The National Youth Theatre and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and a is a keen sportswoman and musician.

She said: "I think I'm bubbly, fun to be around. If the CBBC viewers chose me as the new presenter of Blue Peter it would be life changing - a real dream come true. It would also mean I didn't have to grow up and go into the boring adult world after uni."

Shona Summers, 28 and from Edinburgh

She has dreamt of presenting the show since childhood and currently lives in London, working behind the scenes at ITV's Daybreak.

She said: "It would mean the absolute world to me to get this job. I remember watching Anthea Turner, building a Tracy Island and sending in pictures to the show countless times but I still don't have a Blue Peter badge. I'm desperate to get one."
