The special, which aired in the US last night (7 March) and is set to broadcast in the UK on ITV this evening (8 March).
Reports suggest that the interview has proved extremely lucrative for some parties involved, including Winfrey and her production company, Harpo Productions.
The Wall Street Journal reported that CBS has paid a license fee of between $7m and $9m (between roughly £5m and £6.5m) for the rights to the special, according to people familiar with the deal.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex themselves are not receiving monetary compensation for their appearance in the programme.
At the start of the interview, Winfrey confirmed this, saying: “Before we get in to it, I just want to make it clear to everybody that even though we’re neighbours… that there has not been an agreement.
“You don’t know what I’m going to ask, there is no subject that’s off-limits and you are not getting paid for this interview.”
The Duchess responded by saying: “All of that is correct.”
