Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Grey's Anatomy is back for its 15th season and there's a huge twist around the corner.

Dubbed the "season of love", the first look at the new episodes hints that Ellen Pompeo's Dr. Meredith Grey is about to get seriously steamy with Giacomo Gianniotti (Andrew DeLuca). Or could it all just be a dream?

And what about Teddy (Kim Raver) revealing to Maggie (Kelly McCreary) that she's pregnant? The sound of gunshots even suggests tragedy may come to Grey Sloan Memorial.

The new season will also see the arrival of two new doctors to the scene: an "Ortho God" named Link (Chris Carmack) and Dr. Nico Kim (Alex Landi), the show's first gay male surgeon.

The two-hour season premiere will see the doctors vie for a new position, while Maggie is entrusted with a huge secret. Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's (Justin Chambers) honeymoon also doesn't quite go as planned, while Jackson (Jesse Williams) must reckon with his recent experiences.

Grey's Anatomy returns with its two-hour season premiere on Thursday, 27 September on ABC. It will be shown on Sky Witness in the UK on an unspecified date.
