From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Richard Madeley will replace Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain from Monday.

The 61-year-old TV veteran will step in to replace Morgan as the show's presenter for the second time in six months.

Madeley last hosted the morning show back in October with Susanna Reid.

During that time, he had shared hosting duties with Ben Shephard for three weeks.

Last time Madeley filled in fans dubbed Morgan "a part-timer" for taking a break from the show.

Morgan last appeared on the show Wednesday when he said he would be "off for a while."

He told viewers excitedly that he'd be missing the chaos of the show moving studios.

The series is recorded at The London Studios and is in the process of renovations, so filming will move to a new location by when Morgan returns.

Morgan won't be on Good Morning Britain next week.

There is no word on when Morgan will be back to presenting Good Morning Britain as of right now.
