The actor, who appeared in The Mandalorian as Cara Dune, will no longer be a part of any forthcoming Disney production after sharing an Instagram post comparing being a Republican today to being Jewish during the Holocaust.
In response to the post, Disney’s Lucasfilm called her remarks “abhorrent and unacceptable”.
Carano has spoken out in a new interview with right-wing leaning website The Daily Wire, which will be shown in its entirety on Sunday (21 February).
In a preview clip of the interview, Carano, who has a history of controversial comments, says that she felt she has been “head-hunted” by Disney because she “wasn’t going along with the narrative”.
She also claims that she’s “not the only that’s ever been bullied by this company”.
“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before,” Deadline reports her as saying in the interview.
“I was prepared at any point to be let go, because I’ve seen this happen to so many people. They don’t get to make people feel like that... and if I buckle, it’ll make it okay for these companies, who have a history of lying, to be lying and to do this to other people... and I’m not going down without a fight.”
Carano, who appeared in the Fast & Furious franchise, has previously faced backlash with remarks about gender pronouns and election fraud as well as with the posting of anti-face mask memes.
